To Build Greatly
I just finished a coaching session with an entrepreneur who is going after building a new company in a new market.
He has never built companies A-Z before.
In the end, I ask the same question every time to every person I meet with, "How could I have made this session better for you and what did you get out of today?"
He said that I was able to truly articulate all the needs he would have, the order in which these needs could show up, and the cost required to build a truly functioning company.
I Agree.
He had anticipated some of these needs and costs from his perspective, and yet without the 30 years I have of building companies from the ground up, it is almost impossible to foresee it all.
When you build and it burns down, you learn.
When you succeed sometimes without it being methodical, you get lucky.
When it burns down and you build correctly again, you learn how to implement better the next time around.
THE KEY TO IT ALL IS YOU JUST BEING AWARE OF WHAT IS TRULY HAPPENING AROUND YOU.
Just acknowledge what is working and what isn't working.
AND... IS THIS A ONE-OFF, OR A TRIED AND TRUE WAY OF GETTING RESULTS IN YOUR LIFE EVERY TIME?
Accept that you will probably BURN DOWN some things you build.
They will not work, they will fall apart.
It's ok…
In those moments is when you truly learn, truly reflect, and change the way you see things.
YOU LEARN TO BUILD GREATLY BECAUSE YOU HAVE BURNED GREATLY.
